Rwanda and The Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT)

Featuring

His Excellency Eng. James Kimonyo

Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the United States

and

The Honorable Florizelle Liser

Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Africa

Our speakers will provide background and insight to the passing of a modern bilateral investment treaty, U.S.-Rwanda trade and investment cooperation, and what this means for further economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa.  U.S.-Rwanda BIT was ratified in September 2011, the only BIT that was signed last year. The treaty was the first BIT the United States has signed with an African country in over a decade.
